1.5 Moderation & Melonly

Illinois State Roleplay

It is mandatory you read everything thoroughly on this page so you can fully understand our rules for game moderating. Anything not listed that you are unsure of can be answered by a manager.

Setting Up

• Fix your avatar so it abides by the guidelines listed in 1.1 Simple Regulations

• Apply the staff uniform to your avatar either in game or purchasing it through the group

• Make sure you are carrying a taser and NO gun. This disables you from being killed

• Spawn our mod car. This can be found on the 2020 Ford Explorer. If you do not own this car please notify a manager immediately

We are currently working on adding new staff cars to the fleet so that people with less public server experience can still patrol as staff.

• Patrol the server following traffic laws with stage 1 or 2 ELS. Never turn on full ELS

Patrolling

• Use stage 1 or 2 ELS

• Follow traffic speed limit and laws, use your turn indicator, stop at reds, etc..

• Do not pursue anyone, even if they are breaking rules. Use your MDT to get their user and teleport

• If someone is fleeing on foot, use your taser or kill them, heal, and cuff them

Moderating

• When moderating someone (warn, kick, ban) be sure to follow the punishment guide in 1.4 Punishments

• Cuff the person and tell them what they are being moderated for and what the moderation is (warn, kick, ban)

• You are required to notify the person of the 30 minute kick timer (Game Rules)

• You are required to tell the person the comms code if being banned, the exception is chaos in the server that results in multiple people being banned at once

• Outside of a verbal warning, you are required to log the moderation in the Melonly

• You can also edit or delete a log, if either you make a mistake or someone appeals their moderation

• You can use the search feature in the top right above previous logs to search for a user's previous logs. The amount of previous logs they have, particularly in the specific rule, can determine future moderations on the user

• Remember, you as a staff member cannot be moderated even if you are off shift. If another moderator threatens to moderate you, open a management ticket. Staff members can only get infracted

Mod Call

Any person in the server can call for a mod using !mod or !help. You must be familiar with not only our server rules and all information in this guide to effectively be prepared for any call, but you must also know what to do in the event someone does call.

• Pull completely off of the road & activate your hazards (G)

• Get out of your car to prevent glitching

• Teleport to the user by clicking the yellow notification in the bottom left of your screen

• Introduce yourself professionally, or at the very least; "Hello! How can I help you?"

• Try your best to assess and deal with the mod scene without requesting an HR

• If the person requests an HR get the highest person in the server or tell them to join the comms server and open a ticket (iisrp)
